The iPhone 15 Pro is close to perfect
Hispider news: Following the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a redesigned body to make the device "easier to repair." This means that the iPhone 15 Pro model may have a detachable back glass.
With a redesigned body, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus become the first iPhone models since the iPhone 4S in 2011 that can be opened from both sides of the device. The internal redesign doesn't extend to the iPhone 14 Pro models, which still only open from the side of the display, at least when authorized for repairs. For iPhone 15 Pro models with broken back glass, the removable back glass may significantly reduce repair costs for users who are not covered by AppleCare+.
Apple's out-of-warranty charges for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus with back glass damage range from $169 to $199, while out-of-warranty charges for the iPhone 14 Pro model range from $499 to $549. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 series in September.
Gurman reiterated that all devices will have USB-C ports and dynamic islands, while he expects the Pro models to feature titanium bezels, thinner display bezels, faster chips made with TSMC's 3nm process, customizable action buttons, and more. At least the Pro model is likely to raise prices in some countries, he said.
Mark Gurman said that Apple is using a special manufacturing process to shrink the bezel of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro model, thanks to this manufacturing process, the screen bezel of the iPhone 15 Pro series will be further narrowed to 1.5 mm, which will make it the narrowest bezel of the smartphone.
