1. Resolution
Resolution is an important parameter of the screen, and it is also a parameter that we need to focus on when buying a mobile phone. At present, the screen resolution of the mainstream mobile phone is between 1080P and 2K, relatively speaking, the higher the screen resolution under the same area, the finer the display effect, and the better our perception.
However, because the screen size of different mobile phones is different, for example, the 1080P screen of many small screen mobile phones looks clearer than the 2K screen of tablet computers, so our resolution is not the only basis to distinguish the clarity of the screen, but also need to pay attention to another parameter: PPI.
The larger the PPI, the better the fineness of the display, the richer the picture details, and the lower the PPI is relatively worse. At present, the screen PPI of low-end products is about 200~300, and the flagship products can reach 500~600.
2. Refresh rate
In contrast to resolution, which represents the clarity of the screen, refresh rate represents the smoothness of the screen. At present, the screen refresh rate of mainstream products is between 60Hz and 144Hz, and the higher the refresh rate, the smoother the look and feel. 60Hz means that the screen renders 60 images per second; In the same way, 144Hz is 144 frames per second. Compared with 60Hz, the 144Hz screen can give users a smoother experience during use, and the 144Hz screen can also allow users to see more game information in the game, so as to make faster decisions.
3. Color deep color gamut color
Color depth, color gamut, and color accuracy all come down to the screen color display effect, so we talk together, first of all, color depth: At present, the mainstream screen color depth index is 8bit~10bit, the higher the color depth value, the smoother the color, and the screen has no fault.
Color gamut is a method of color coding, DCI-P3 is a color gamut standard, most of the flagship mobile phones on the market support 100%DCI-P3, that is, support all color display within the standard; Some low-end phones only support 90%-99%DCI-P3.
Whether the true color can be restored is called the color level, the parameter to measure the color level is △E, the smaller the value, the smaller the color deviation, basically △E< 1 Already has almost no color deviation.
4.PWM dimming
I believe that many people have had dry eyes and uncomfortable eyes when playing mobile phones in a dark light environment, which is the problem of low-frequency PWM dimming of OLED screens.
PWM dimming is simply to control the brightness of the display screen by periodically switching the LED, that is, a "light-dark - light-dark - light" process. When the screen brightness is the highest, the screen normally emits light; When the brightness of the screen is reduced, it is achieved by alternating dark and light.
Therefore, starting from the frequency, when increasing the PWM dimming frequency, by increasing the flicker frequency to make the human eye difficult to detect, you can play a relative eye protection effect, so the higher the PWM dimming frequency, the better.
